February 1, 2017
Our AR360 testing takes place between February 1-7. Please make sure your child is here at school on time. This is particularly important when an assessment for the class is given. Thank you.
Math Homework Help continues, with a slight adjustment in time. Our after school tutoring is now from 2:35-3:30. Participation has remained steady at sixty students each Tuesday and Thursday. If you think that your child would benefit from this, please feel free to leave him/her at school until 3:30. Dismissal is held at the front of the school and we do expect prompt pickup.
We have seen an increase in early pickups. We understand how difficult it can be to schedule student appointments outside of the school day, but many students are being picked up early to accommodate parent or sibling appointments, work schedules, or simply to beat the traffic. If a doctor’s note is not presented at pickup we will need it the next day, otherwise these early departures will be recorded as an unexcused tardy and can lead to Truancy Referral. In the event that you do need to pick your child up early during the school day, please notify the school office or your child’s teacher in advance. Also, due to class rotation schedules, students will not be called out of class during the last 10 minutes of the day. Please remember that teachers cannot stop class to give your child his/her homework assignment when we haven’t known in advance that he/she will be leaving early. Thank you for your help with this.
If you have any questions regarding Math Homework Help, early pickup procedures, or any other issues that come up, please feel free to call me at 443-7224. I am happy to chat with you by phone or meet with you at a mutually convenient time.
